LCDR Safouane Lachgar

Lieutenant Commander Lachgar earned his commission in the Navy Supply Corps through the United States Naval Academy in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Arabic from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of the Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies with a Focus on the Greater Middle East from the United States Naval War College, and a Master of Science in Operations Research from the United States Naval Postgraduate School.
His sea tours include duties as Supply Officer, USS Barry (DDG 52), and Assistant Supply Officer, USS Oak Hill (LSD 51).
Ashore, he served as the Supply Officer for Naval Special Warfare Advanced Training Command Detachment Fort Story (NSW ATC DFS) where he oversaw the Supply Department in providing logistical support to the various courses of instruction that trained U.S. and allied Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel in various special warfare techniques and disciplines.
Lachgar assumed his current duties as Executive Officer at the Priority Material Office (PMO) in May 2026.
Lachgar has led teams that have been recognized with numerous honors, including an FY24 Ney Award Nominee (USS Barry’s Food Service Division).
Lachgar is a qualified Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer and qualified in Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) 1. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
